Name: Mary
Age: 16
Orientation: THERE WAS ORIENTATION? Oh shoot. I missed it.
Birthday: January 18th, 1992
Gender: Female
Relationship Status: Mm. I don't quite like this question. Is it vital?
Location: Orange County, California.
Religion: This is a topic I could go on for days about. Technically Catholic, but I'm a history geek, so the history behind the Catholic church is what gets me.
Terrible reason to be a certain religion, but I can't help it! I drool over it.
Occupation: None, starting college this fall.
Languages spoken: English, mild French, pirate, and a little cockney British. (Whaaaat? That's not a language! You're KIDDING.)
Interests: I'm a bibliomaniac, so books. Reading, music, painting, art, fashion, poetry, film, drama, people-watching, costuming, makeup-design, History,
literature, I could go on for...days...and days about what I love.
Music: Mostly Indie Rock or Classical. Some Britpop, etc. My taste is very eclectic. My favorite bands or artists in no particular order are:
Death Cab for Cutie, The Decemberists, Marketa Irglova and Glen Hansard, Belle and Sebastian, Brahms, Mozart, Liza Minelli, Frank Sinatra, Joni Mitchell, Duncan Sheik,
Kate Nash, Oasis, Muse, The Libertines, JEM, Sia, The Police...give me something and I'll try it.
Books: Too many. If I could and had to, for some reason, pick some top favorites, though, it'd be:
Lolita- Vladimer Nabakov
Any poetry by e.e. Cummings
A Perfect Day for Bananafish/Nine Stories- J.D Salinger
The Time Traveler's Wife-Audrey Niffenegger
Only Revolutions- Mark Z. Danielewski
Atonement- Ian Mcewan
TV: I don't really watch live Television. If I do watch TV on DVD, I watch Rome, Bones, House, The Office, or Flight of the Concords. I have been known to slip in a South Park episode here and there, for a cheering up.
Movies: Too many, again...but a few, if I had to chose:
Whisper of the Heart
Fight Club
American Beauty
Amadeus
Dangerous Liaisons
The Red Violin
Lust, Caution
Atonement
Lolita
Anything Disney, really.
A Room with a View
La Vie En Rose
Romeo and Juliet (1968)
Amelie
Cabaret
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Factory Girl
and seriously..my film collection is HUGE.
How long have you been writing to pen pals? Never had any snail mail Penpals! Speaking of, I hate calling it snail mail. I quite like snails, and it sounds almost like a cacophemism! But I have lots of online friends that I email and talk to all the time.
How many pen pals do you have? None.
How many pen pals do you want? Any amount! Letter-writing is an artform I'd love to perfect. You can save them physically, versus emails. You feel like they're more meaningful.
How long are your letters? Depends on how much I have to say!
Do you hand-write or type? Handwriting is more personal, eh?
How long does it take you to reply to a letter? A day or two, probably.
Sending Gifts: I am a serious gift-giver. I LOVE sending surprises to people.
What age would you like your pen pal to be? Any age! I'm a firm believer that age does not necessarily determine maturity, and would like the same attitude to be shown towards me.
Would you like them to be male or female? Either or, I enjoy talking to everyone!
Where would you like them to be from? Anywhere but California. Haha. I've had it with this place.
What are you looking for in a pen pal? Someone who is open-minded and willing to truly talk, through letters. A connection, of the friendly sorts. If someone wants to just send letters back and forth about,
"Hi, Hi, how're you?" I'm not quite intrigued. I find random strangers fascinating! So be sure to only increase my fascination. I'm a very open person about things,
so I'd like someone to be just as.
Brief Description: Of myself, or? Well, I'm a crazy redheaded bibliomaniac-insomniac two for one, who enjoys looking at the stars, drinking tea, writing songs and poems, and being completely odd. I've also conducted a plan to see every still-existing Vermeer painting. It'll be anarchy! If you've ever seen the film Juno, I'm a little like her. It's quite sad watching a movie you could've written.
I'll do email or regular mail, even a mix!
Just drop me a comment, aye? Or, if you're feeling especially happy and want to go the extra mile, an email!
(Warning before you talk to me, I do like to curse and/or address ideally sensitive topics. I don't want you to be surprised!)
